Hey Ladies and Gents,

Reverse Bucket list

First of all, welcome!!!

I've wanted to start a blog for a few years now but the insecure Nadine thought, who wants to hear from me anyway. The new Nadine is like well why not, I'm a pretty great person!I wanted to create a space where I can give you Nadine's view and perspective on things. This space is all about positivity, growth, and freedom to do whatever makes you happy.

My first blog is about a reverse bucket list. I'm 31 years old and as we begin 2018, I wanted to reflect back on my greatest accomplishments so far and what I'm looking to achieve in 2018.

In high school, I had my life all planned out. Finish high school, go to college, become a psychologist, open a practice, buy a house, car and all that good stuff. Notice how wife and kids weren't mentioned.

Welp as we all know, things don't always go as planned, at all!. I met my now husband attending college in Miami, financially I couldn't afford to go to graduate school. And so once my visa expired I went back home to Aruba. Things weren't going well as I couldn't find anything related to my major.

So, being the getup and go, person, I am, decided to come back to the states, to my husband and just settle down for a while. I had just started working as a project manager/social media manager for a digital marketing company. As I was trying to figure out my next move, as life would have it, I got pregnant.

Two of my greatest accomplishments.

Motherhood:

When they say having a child changes you, it's an understatement, sheesh! On December 4th, 2015 my life and heart changed completely.  All of a sudden you want to be the best version of yourself for this little person. You want to give everything to this little person. You want to pull out all your hair out because of this little person lol. It's a roller coaster full of ups, downs, smiles, and tears. And keep in mind my daughter Nova is only 2. My job isn't done, not by a long shot. But I'm proud of what I've done so far. She's smart, happy and healthy.

Being a Wife:

Motherhood maybe, but I was not one of those girls that dreamed of getting married. The first time my husband mentioned marriage, very early in the relationship I might add, I was caught off guard and was like nah. I had to warm up to the notion of being with one person for the rest of my life. Growing up I didn't have any examples of healthy long lasting marriages, zero. But the idea of having a family unit, as my hubby puts it, appealed to me in such a beautiful way. I've been married now almost 7 years and it hasn't always been easy. But I'm so proud of my commitment to my husband and our family. He is a great man and the right choice for me. In this day in age where most people can't make it work, for whatever reason, it's satisfying to belong to the club that makes it work. And no, don't stay in a "bad"(whatever this means for you) marriage. But getting through the hurdles makes both of you stronger and even more grateful.

Bucket list:

My personal life is soaring. Now my career life has been all over the place. I've hopped from job to job, the past couple of years. Like a little of everything. But last year I got the opportunity to start my own business and "I, am, not, looking, back!( insert hand clapping). I've found something I'm passionate about and actually enjoy. Not to mention I don't have to leave the house (dances in PJ's).

For 2018 I'd like to see my business and blog be successful and reach new heights.

I need to hop on a plane like yesterday! I would really like to travel too in 2018. I traveled with my family ever since I was younger. I hold those memories so dear to my heart and would like to pass that on to my daughter.

I will go into specifics in a goal setting blog. What is on your reverse bucket list? And what are things that are on your bucket list or want to achieve in 2018?
