That Girl Summer Ready Skincare Tips
Summer is in full swing and it's time to celebrate the sunny season! Here at Bewelldien we want to share a few simple tips that will have your skin glowing and summer-ready.
Summertime means more exposure to the sun, which can be damaging to your skin if you don't take the proper precautions. Here are some tips from Bewelldien to help you keep your skin healthy and happy all summer long:
1. wear sunscreen - This should be a no-brainer, but it's important to reapply sunscreen often, especially if you're swimming or sweating. Look for a natural, non-toxic option that will protect your skin without exposing you to harmful chemicals.
2. Collagen - As the sun-kissed days of summer approach, integrating collagen into your skincare regimen emerges as a pivotal step towards achieving a radiant glow. Collagen, the primary structural protein in the skin, provides crucial support and elasticity, contributing to a youthful complexion. During summer, increased sun exposure can accelerate collagen breakdown, leading to premature aging and diminished skin suppleness. By incorporating collagen into your skincare routine, whether through serums, moisturizers, or supplements, you bolster your skin's resilience against environmental stressors, promoting firmness and hydration. This proactive approach not only revitalizes your skin but also enhances its ability to withstand the summer elements, ensuring you radiate confidence and luminosity throughout the season.
3. Eat well - Proper nutrition is essential for healthy skin (and overall health). Make sure to include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet, and stay hydrated by drinking lots of water.
4. Exercise - Exercise improves blood circulation and helps to flush out toxins from your body. A moderate amount of exercise is ideal for maintaining healthy skin.
5. Eat a good amount of fat (avocado, nuts, etc) every day. It's super important when it comes to glowing skin!
6. Get enough sleep - Sleep gives your body a chance to heal and repair itself, so make sure you're getting at least 7-8 hours per night.
7. Reduce stress - Stress can have a negative impact on your skin, so try to reduce it as much as possible. Meditation, yoga, and deep breathing are all great ways to relax and de-stress.
My routine going from winter/spring to summer does not consist of huge changes but rather some small key differences:
I switch from an oil cleanser to a foam or bar cleanser. In summer, oily skin can get more oily. Use a face wash suited to your skin type that can deep cleanse and remove all the dirt and grime.
I make sure to exfoliate regularly to remove excess dirt and oil from the skin. Not just my face but I exfoliate my whole body to keep body acne and oil build-up at bay.
I like to keep my serums and moisturizers super lightweight and opt for one that’s full of antioxidants. Antioxidant serums work wonders to hydrate your skin. Besides, they protect your skin from environmental damage, help to boost collagen, and scavenge free radicals to prevent damage to skin.
